I second the recommendation for using VMM with Lightwave. I have used
it to render pictures requiring 40 Mb (on my 16 Mb system) and it has
worked great. The best thing is that, percentage wise, it only affects
rendering time a little. The only period of real intensive paging
activity is during shadow map creation, but thereafter, the number of
page faults per unit time is small.
